Access Applications Menu

Hover over the navigation bar to the left of the dashboard and select ‘Conversations’.

Step-By-Step Guide to Installing Live Chat on Your Shopify Website

This guide provides you with step-by-step instructions to install live chat on your Shopify website using the Conversations App. For information about generating the script for your site, see the primary help article.

Note: Be sure to proceed with caution as incorrect implementation may cause disruptions to your site.

1. Access Website Editor:

Log into the Shopify backend, and navigate to the 'Online Store' section in the left rail. Here, select 'Themes'.

2. Select Code Editor:

Once inside 'Themes', locate and click the 'Actions' button, then select 'Edit Code' from the dropdown options.

3. Access theme.liquid:

You will now find yourself within the Shopify code editor. Ensure that 'theme.liquid' is selected.

4. Input Live Chat Script:

Within the code section, find the closing body tag (</body>). Place the script you copied from the Conversations App right above this tag.

5. Save the Changes:

Once the script is properly placed, save your changes.

6. Confirm Live Chat Functionality:

After saving your changes, navigate to your website. You should now see a live chat bubble at the bottom of the site.

Note: If you don't see the live chat bubble, go back and double-check your steps, ensuring you've copied the correct script from the Conversations App.
